The award winning K Series engine is an all aluminum unit is available in two capacity variants: 2.0 litre and 2.5 litre.

KV6 2.5l Engine

The engines are 6-cylinder water cooled naturally aspirated with 4 valves per cylinder and utilising multi-point fuel injection with sequential operating capability.

The block and liner construction is common across the range, with the 2.5 litre using thinner section liners to increase bore size and hence capacity.

All have direct acting overhead camshafts and hydraulic tappets, toothed belt driver via an auto tensioning system arrangement.

Power outputs for the range of engines in MG Rover configuration are 150Ps to 190Ps and all meet current emission legislation.

The compact Aluminum construction and weight-optimized components have lead to a power unit weight of 154-Kg (Dry).
